Alcove fixture with a fixed wall and sliding door
Alcove fixture consists of a fixed wall and a sliding door. The product is well-suited for a shower enclosure with fixtures next to it where the door has enough space to move outside and inside. The door slides behind the fixed wall, so it does not need space for opening. The fixed wall and the door can be dimensioned so that the fixed wall protects the fixtures and the door occupies the width of the available space.
The door slides behind the fixed part supported by the bearing wheels installed into the top edge of the door. The bottom part of the door moves in the guide groove of the lower slide rail. A magnet seal keeps the door tightly closed during showering.
The alcove fixture is attached to the wall of the building from the sides by means of wall mountedprofiles. The alcove fixture can be installed either by a single lower slide rail of the width of the entire product or at least by a short lower slide rail of the width of the fixed screen whereby the doorway is an unobstructed entry. The product can be installed off the floor with the help of an adjustment leg, allowing the water to flow under the slide rail. Alternatively the water flow can be prevented by installing a seal (standard part) under the slide rail. The profiles mounted to the edges of the panel are manufactured of aluminium. The white (RAL 9016), black (RAL 9005), Sand (RAL 1019) and Mocha (RAL 8025) surface treatment options are manufactured by powder coating. Grey and bright are anodized coatings. Profiles are sandblasted before anodization, so that the surface is as smooth as possible and there will be no fingerprints. The fittings used in the product, like square foot and brace bars, are made of brass alloy and correspond with the chosen profile color. White,black, Sand and Mocha profiles have painted fittings, bright profiles have chrome plated fittings and grey profiles have fittings with a brushed nickel finish.
The product is manufactured of 6mm thick tempered safety panel (EN 12150). The safety panel can be treated in the factory with Cranith calcification prevention coating. The coating enables the panel to stay clean easier. Clear and smoke are smooth surfaced and transparent panels Chinchilla and satin panel are not fully transparent, details cannot be made out through the panel. Chinchilla is textured on one side and smooth on the other side. One side of the satin panel is etched to acquire a velvety feel and the other side is smooth. When choosing a satin panel product, bear in mind that the etched surface of the panel is sensitive to scratches and stains.
The size of the alcove fitting can be selected from the standard dimensions or it can be manufactured by custom dimensions. The wall mounted profiles have the total of 40 mm adjustment range. The adjustment range can be used for leveling any tilt of the building s walls as well as for accommodating the alcove fitting into the installation opening. For the purposes of accommodating the fitting into the opening, one or more extension profiles delivered with the product can be used. One extension profile extends the width of the alcove fitting by 34mm and it can be grooved for example for the inlet of the surface water pipes. Please note that the mounting opening should be 25mm higher than the product itself.

If the product is installed using a short lower slide the water tight quality of the product can be improved by installing a door step profile under the door. The shower door step profile is cut into suitable lengths on the side and glued to the floor. The height of a shaped step profile is 10mm and its width is 16mm.
